The Wall Street Journal report

with Maria Bartiromo

transcript of an interview with Zigzag
taped on June 22, 2009

m: Wecome back to the Wall Street Journal report. Today we're speaking with Zigzag -- editor of 900stories. I've had the opportunity to read 900stories. Later on you'll hear my thoughts on what 900stories means for the retail investor. Zigzag, welcome to the program.
z: Thank you Maria. Its a pleasure. And thank you for saying 900stories three times in your opening statement.
m: Spoken like a true editor. What exactly is 900stories?
z: Its a wikibook.
m: Come now. Isn't it just another self-serving blog? masquerading as art?
z: Its a wikibook. Log in and edit to your heart's content. Lord knows I could use the help.
m: There's no doubt about that.
z: Uh huh.
m: My first edit would begin on page one and consist of taping down the delete-key. Then I'd go out for dinner. But moving on, what possessed you to write the 900stories blog? Does mental illness run in your family?
z: I didn't actually write it Maria. I'm the editor.
m: You didn't answer my question.
z: As a matter of fact it does.
m: Who did write 900stories?
z: It writes itself -- continuously generating new content.
m: So let me guess. You helped an old woman cross the street and she gave you a bag of seeds, which you then proceeded to plant, and one day you woke up and the backyard was filled with stories. Is that pretty much the case?
z: Maria, what's that on your leg?
m: This wraps up another edition of the Wall Street Journal report. We'll be back next time with Vikram Pandit, CEO of Citigroup. Until then have an excellent week and remember to check out our --
z: Pandit's an ass.
m: Security! remove this man immediately.
z: I still want to know whats wrong with your leg.
m: SECURITY!
z: It looks infected.
